SCANTLING

The assembly of basic geometric shapes and the use of wood together with metal give this family of lamps a close air and, simultaneously, a marked personality. All the screen movements, with full rotation, are resolved using ball joints and arms, and its technical precision means that it does not require springs or visible counterweights to maintain the chosen position.

The English word Scantling refers to the dimensions of the section of a wooden rod and derives from a measuring tool used in ancient times. The evidence of its constructive play gives this lamp a specific archetypal image, almost graphic. I lacquered the iron stem and base. The solid oak arm supports an aluminum diffuser. The switch is built into the screen.
