GLAOUI TUMBUCTU

This is the Tumbuktu rug from the Glaoui collection, a piece available in two sizes made with a complex craft system that alternates three types of techniques. The different textures and volumes of its motifs are made with knotted hair, flat weave, and embroidery, a laborious method of Moroccan origin from which the collection takes its name. The Glaoui collection comprises a series of rugs and poufs that mix a varied style of drawing patterns and textures in an eclectic and harmonic way. A complex traditional Moroccan technique is taken to another aesthetic dimension by designer Sandra Figuerola, who has been inspired by colors, graphics, and topographies of African and Indian origin for her motifs.
