Bitta chairs are made with aluminum structures, braided seats with polyester rope, comfortable cushions, and perfectly weather-resistant materials. “The designer intended to create a dense but breathing braid that was reminiscent of the braiding of ropes used to tie boats to berths (hence the name Bitta, which means ‘berth’ in Italian)–, which would give the pieces a feeling of lightness but, that these were seen as cozy nests in natural tones in which to relax.”
